The Catskills Bed and Breakfast and Spa have announced the creation of a discount Vegan and Vegetarian Ecotourism vacation for the Thrifty Traveler.

The Catskills Bed and Breakfast and Spa is well known for its stress-management programs and for using dietary approaches to help people suffering from clinical depression. The author of the book “Healing Depression Naturally” – http://www.HealingDepressionBook.com, he has been holding hundreds of classes on natural healing and self development at thr center for years and decided he wanted to bring his vegetarian lifestyle to the forefront of the B & Bs offerings.

Today, co-founder and owner Lewis Harrison announced the creation of low-cost Vegetarian and Vegan Spa Vacations. With these lifestyle choices becoming more popular than ever, and the cost of gas pushing past $4.00 a gallon, the idea of a Vegan ‘Staycation’ is a popular and healthy travel option.

At the Catskills Bed and Breakfast and Spa, guests can learn yoga and meditation through the Natural Healing Academy, a nationally acclaimed learning center. Guests also may choose from a wide variety of complimentary options for healthy and natural living; massage, nutrition counseling, stress management coaching, and other free unlimited classes and lectures are all included in a lodging price that rates at under $200 per night.

The Catskills Bed and Breakfast and Spa allows their guests to mix and match many different educational programs. These can be combined with any spa program at no additional charge. A full list of programs and services is available to browse at their website.Thecatskillsbedandbreakfast.com

The Catskills Bed and Breakfast and  Spa is located in a seventeen room Victorian home that was once the summer residence  of Zza Zza Gabor and her sisters and is  just a ½ mile from the headwaters of the Delaware River in the heart of the famous North Western Catskill mountains. The Bed and Breakfast is a four-season destination.

Lewis Harrison, the owner of the Spa, is a vegetarian chef, a lacto-vegetarian for forty years, and the author of nine books on nutrition, stress management and ecological living. According to Mr. Harrison, “This is a time where people have a growing interest in compassionate, earth friendly, sustainable, healthy lifestyles; and yet they still need to take a low cost romantic getaway. With an increase in global warming, and a need to reduce the cost of travel, a “Green – Vegetarian” B & B or spa vacation is the perfect choice”.

The Bed and Breakfast also offers many programs for beginner vegetarians. These included classes on food preparation, vegetarian nutrition, and issues related to natural healing, environmentalism, self-help, and personal development.

When not partaking of the spa’s “Green” offerings, guests are free to visit local nature preserves, museums, art galleries, riding stables, hiking and biking trails. Sight-seeing destinations include revolutionary-war-period stone houses, local antique stores, and the nearby Hobart Antiquarian Book Village. Many local events may also be found through the Catskill Art and Culture Festival.

Seekers of inspiration, reflection, creativity, authenticity, self-knowledge and self-healing, have, time and again, been drawn to the Catskills region; particularly the Catskills B & B and Spa.  For those who want to reduce their carbon footprint there is a bus that goes from Port Authority bus terminal in NYC to within two blocks of the Spa’s front door.
