GLBT Friendly Hiking and Golf in the Catskills

When a family goes on a staycation each family member may have different needs. When taking family vacations in the Catskills one of the most enjoyable things to do is hiking.

Stamford NY is a small town between Delhi, and Oneonta, and is about 75 minutes from Kingston and Woodstock.  It is only a thirty minute drive from some of the most beautiful waterfalls in New York State. Painters from the Hudson River school came here to hone their craft and John Burroughs the famous naturalist lived in Roxbury also 30 minutes from the Catskill Bed and Breakfast and Spa which I own.  in Some of the most beautiful sites and hiking trails including Kaaterskill Falls just drive past the Hunter Mountain ski Resort. Just ten minutes later you will be at the foot of the waterfall and a few miles from of zip lines and backwoods hiking trails.

If you love golfing the Stamford Country Club is just a mile away.

The Village also has a gym, tennis courts and a Bowling Alley in addition to fine dining a “Real NY City Pizza Parlor”.

The area is very GLBT friendly as well and some of the original “Stonewall” pioneers from the old days in Greenwich Village live up here now.
